attend a meeting, there are a few things that you need.

> 2. Speakers on your computer – Our meetings are "voice" meetings,
which mean we verbally speak to each other. So you'll need speakers

> 3. *optional* a microphone – You would need a microphone to speak
at the meeting. However, if you don't have a microphone, it's ok.
You can still talk at the meeting; you'll just need to "typeshare".
If someone is typesharing, it means that they are typing their
thoughts out on the screen and others are reading it, as opposed to
speaking into the microphone. A microphone can be purchased just
about anywhere. Wal-Mart has them for about $10.

> What do you need to DO to attend a meeting? You need be signed on
to yahoo messenger, so the chair person can see your online, or you
can Im the chair person to ask for a "invite" If you look at the
calendar on Lobbyville's website, listed by each meeting is the yahoo
messenger ID's for the chairperson/chair people.

> How do you ask for an invite? There are 2 ways to do this. It's
best to do both. I would do these about 15 minutes or so before the
meeting that you want to attend is scheduled to start.
> 1) Go to the message board on Lobbyville's website and post a
message asking the chairperson for an "invite" to the meeting.
> 2) Sign in to your yahoo messenger (you must be signed in to
attend a meeting anyway) and send the chairperson an instant message
asking for an invite. Send the instant message to the chairperson's
yahoo messenger ID listed on the calendar.

> The meetings take place in a yahoo messenger "conference room".
When a chairperson sends you an "invite," a box will pop up on your
screen. The box will say something about being invited to a
conference. You can click on "join" or "decline". Obviously, you'll
want to click on join. Then another box will pop up on the screen.
This will be the Nica conference room where the meeting will take
place.
