I don't know what you're intending to age, but if you've opened the tins, you may as well smoke them... the aging process, which is really only improves Virginia and some Burly occurs over time in a sealed atmosphere where a crazy baterial process converts the surgar in the tobacco. That's why VA's age to perfection, because of their high sugar content. It needs to be in a near vacum or near air tight container (Tins or ball mason jars).
So, if you have anything other than a VA open, smoke 'em up. They really won't improve much (they will dry though).

Subject: [Pipe smokers] Re: WOW!!
Yeah I use it as an everyday smoke. I have not opened the Navy Flake
sent to me as of yet. The old lady (I can call her that because she
has 6 years on me) is telling me to smoke down the tobacco that I
have now so she can order me some more. I am wanting to age some of
the stuff that I have already though.
I have been smoking cigars in between pipes now and she is hating
life as we know it. She is a non-smoker but she thinks that us
smokers are taking bum raps. She stands up for our rights to smoke,
what's not to love about that.
