Re: [Pipe smokers] Tobacco consistency.

For my money, Dunhill is the most inconsistent these days. Some tins
of EMP I've had over the last couple of years have been ok, others
didn't even taste like the same blend. The orientals were very green,
or young tasting, and the blend wasn't melded at all. 965 has also
been hit or miss. But, that's just my experience, and all of these
tins have been purchased in Europe.

So, yeah I have bought different tins of the same blend and had
problems. As for the cause, I have no Idea. (Well, I have an idea,
but it's sketchy at best and there are enough rumors about Dunhill.)

MacBaren does have very consistent High quality, though most of their
offerings are not really my style. I have tried a bunch of blends
from their wide (though somehow narrow)range and the blends are always
the same, tin to tin.

Both the Gawith companies have good consistency, too.

I did get a mislabeled Esoterica Stonehaven sack once. I think it
must have been filled with Peacehaven. Quite a letdown, but recent
Stonehaven has been, well, Stonehaven. Is it possible other people
have gotten mislabeled tins (from whatever company) and decided the
blend was 'inconsistent'?

dunno.
