Well a clove cigarette is actually, properly called a kretek. Here's a
better bunch of info than I can offer..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kretek
I usually smoke Sampoerna xtras or Djarum super 16 when I do, which, as
I said, is about twice a year. They are not probably going to be very
popular to the average western smoker, but, in Indonesia and some other
places, they are more popular than the 'regular' Cig.
Kreteks taste virtually nothing like a cigarette and absolutely like
cloves. Many are very strong nic wise, also. Here's something
interesting: add copy from a website--check out the Nicotine. (Most
regular cigs are around 0.5 - 0.8 mg a smoke).
Djarum 76 is the result of secret research, sacred recipe with a history
streching back over 120 years. Mature tobacco with 38 mg Tar, 2.4 mg
Nicotine and quality clove selection blended with variety of traditional
Indonesian spices make Djarum 76 to a enjoyable.
They really stink (read-smell great) depending on your nose, and they
are pretty noisy. They crackle. Anyway, If I gotta smoke a cigarette
(and I never do) it'll be a kretek, a Nat Sherman MCD, or nothing...By
the way Sherman's cloves suck.
Actually all cigs suck, but we know that, don't we.......
As a side thought, switching to cloves my be a good way to quit.....You
certainly can't smoke too many of them at once.....(I'm kidding folks..)
