Blends with Perique added are a completely different ballgame, I think, because the Perique will continue to ferment and change more than other types of tobacco. I saw this in the PCCA blends, particularly the Beacon, we reviewed more recently. I have also experienced it in very old tinned tobaccos in which the Perique took on a completely different character (and a nice character, at that).

A while back I opened some five year old Mcclellands 2010 and was a
bit disappointed. Well last night I opened a jar of 2015 I had sealed
up at the same time. Age was very kind to this blend. Very kind. I
liked that when I lit it up it had a background smokiness a bit like
Presbyterian Blend. I like smoky flavored smoke. While I likely
won't replace the 2010 I will be putting more of this up.
