I love Captain Black and it has never caused a pipe to reek of it and have been able to smoke other tobaccos in my pipes with no problem. I have been smoking Captain Black for the past 35yrs. If you havent thrown out yours send it to me. I always check out a new tobacco in a cheap corncob before I try it in one of better pipes.

I have a pipe in which I foolishly tried some Captain
Black. Just one bowl and now the pipe reeks of Capt. Black.
I want to get that odor and taste out so I can enjoy that
pipe again. I contacted Scott at piperestore. com and I
know he has a great reputation, but my budget is a little
tight right now. Do any of our members out there know how
to bring this pipe back without spending a lot of money?
