i just snip off an end of a pipe cleaner and throw it down the shank. I make sure it does not affect the draw. What will happen is that the end of the pipe cleaner will absorb the moisture and you will be able to smoke for longer without using a pipe cleaner every few minutes.
 
It works for me. I read about it somewhere about 2 years ago and was doing it since

Thanks to everyone for the help. I smoke black cavendish usually, its
my favorite so far. Granted ive just begun not too long ago. Now as far
as the pipe cleaner goes are you suggesting i leave a pipe cleaner in
the stem while smoking? I thought about that but wasnt sure if it would
affect the taste or anything like that.
